Explore the rugged wildernesses of the infamous Skeleton Coast on this 7-night journey to Namibia’s northern coastline. Witness endless desert landscapes from the air, go in search of the specially adapted wildlife that roam here and meet the resilient tribes that call the region home.

  • Situated at the mouth of the Swakop River, the coastal town of Swakopmund is wedged between the sprawling sand dunes of the Namib desert to the south and the endless desolation of the Skeleton Coast to the north.

    In Swakopmund you explore streets lined with antiquated German architecture,a visual reminder of the town’s history as a German colonial harbour town. You will also visit the nearby port town of Walvis Bay, famous for its huge lagoon regularly visited by whales, dolphins, seals and sunfish.

  • Today you venture into the arid and remote wilderness of the infamous Skeleton Coast. A short private air transfer takes you to the dry riverbed of the Hoanib, one of western Namibia’s ephemeral seasonal rivers. From your base camp, a luxury lodge near the Hoanib River, you explore the surrounding area in search of specially adapted desert animals including lion, elephant, giraffe, oryx and even the elusive brown hyena.

  • The highlight of the trip, the remote Kaokoland conservancy bordering the Kunene River, is your next destination. After touching down on an impossibly remote airstrip in the far northwestern corner of Namibia, you will explore the nearby Hartmann’s Valley, the life-giving waters of the Kunene River and the communities who call the isolated landscapes of Kaokoland home.
